Flexible PCB Assembly

Flexible & Rigid-Flex PCB Assembly - Honest About What We Do

We assemble components onto flex and rigid-flex PCBs you supply, or onto bare flex circuits we source for you through our authorized fabrication partners as part of a turnkey order. We do not fabricate the bare flex circuit ourselves. Flex fabrication is a different process with different equipment, and we’d rather coordinate it through a vetted partner than pretend we do it in-house.

What we do build, in-house, every day:

  • SMT placement on flex and rigid-flex substrates, fine-pitch, BGA, and 0201 components, on Panasonic high-speed equipment
  • Through-hole and mixed-technology flex assemblies for boards that need both
  • Substrate-specific fixturing to control flex during paste print, placement, and reflow
  • Profiled reflow flex substrates have a narrower thermal window than rigid boards; our profiles are validated per stack-up
  • Conformal coating, potting, and protective finishing as the application requires
  • AOI and 3D X-ray inspection on every assembly, same as the rigid line

Benefits of Flexible PCB Manufacturing

Flexible PCB Manufacturing isn’t just about producing goods; it’s about adapting quickly to changing demands while maintaining efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. It allows businesses to scale production, customise products, and respond faster to market needs without compromising performance.

  • Cost Efficiency: Reduced waste and optimised resource utilisation lower overall production costs.
  • Adaptability: Easily adjust production lines for different products or volumes.
  • Faster Turnaround: Quick response to changing customer demands and market trends.
  • Improved Quality: Consistent processes ensure high-quality output every time.
  • Scalability: Increase or decrease production based on business requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Assembly only. We populate components onto flex and rigid-flex boards you supply, or onto bare boards we source through our authorized flex fabrication partners as part of a turnkey order. We don’t run a flex fabrication line in-house, it’s a different process, and we’d rather coordinate it through a partner that specializes in it.

Yes. SMT plus through-hole on the same flex assembly is common, and we handle the sequencing, fixturing, and protection so the through-hole step doesn’t damage SMT-side components.

No. We build single prototypes through scheduled production runs.

Reflow profiles are validated per stack-up, we work to the substrate’s glass-transition limits, not a generic rigid-board profile. Process settings are documented per build.

Yes. Multi-bend and multi-layer rigid-flex assemblies are within our capability. Fixturing and process review happen during the DFM phase to confirm.

For production customers, we hold component inventory under a Kanban agreement and build to a JIT schedule against your forecast. Cuts your inventory carrying cost without adding lead time to your build.
